Skin Science:
Natural skin moisture occurs at several levels in the epidermis:
– In the skin barrier, keratinocytes are often connected by a lipid
connection system (intercellular cement), forming a protective wall
responsible for the body’s defense. This is enhanced by an invisible film on
the skin’s surface, composed of a mixture of water and lipids, known as the
hydrolipid film.
– In the stratum corneum, water binds to natural moisturizing factors
(NMF), which act like sponges by retaining water within the keratinocytes.
Therefore, the moisture content of the skin results from the balance between
water absorption, storage, retention, and evaporation.
1. Apply to the face, neck, and décolleté.
2. Leave on for 15 minutes.
3. Foam up with cold water and remove with moistened cotton pads.
